Maryna Stepanska

Born in Kyiv in 1982, Maryna Stepanska graduated in 2004 from the Karpenko-Kary National University of film, theater, and television (film department, specialty: director). She studied the methodology of working with non-professional actors at the experimental theater "School". She completed the six-month ARCHIDOC course for documentary filmmakers at France's La Fémis school for filmmakers. Her feature debut, Falling, received several international awards and three Golden Dzyga awards from the Ukrainian Film Academy, in 2017–2018. She has co-written feature films, the latest being Forever-Forever, directed by Anna Buriachkova, which premiered at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival. Maryna is currently working on a documentary feature film titled It's not a full picture. It is about Ukrainian filmmakers since the start of the full-scale war.
