Pavlo Yurov

Theater director, and military

Pavlo Yurov is a theater director and playwright, currently serving in the Ukrainian armed forces. He is the author of several plays and performances about war, cultural heritage and social inequality. He works in documentary, post-dramatic and immersive theater, with modern dramaturgy and contemporary art. He graduated from Kyiv’s I.K. Karpenko-Kary university of theatre and dramaturgy, majoring in drama theater direction and scriptwriting for film and television. In 2011 he was the laureate of the Kyiv Pectoral Theater award. He participates in drama laboratories, international festivals and residencies, in Ukraine and internationally. Since 2023, Pavlo Yurov has been serving in the First Presidential “Bureviy” brigade of Ukraine’s National Guard.
