
Sophie Lambroschini
Historian
Sophie Lambroschini is a former journalist and historian of Eastern Europe with a special focus on wartime society in Ukraine. Her research centers on economic practices, networks, and solidarities of critical infrastructure professionals in conflict settings. She completed a doctoral thesis on Soviet international banking elites across the Cold War divide. Since 2018 her ethnographic research investigates the impact of the war on the everyday and invisible work of water, power utilities and transport workers in the war in Donbas and since 2022 throughout Ukraine. She authored Les Ukrainiens (ed. Henry Dougier, Paris), first published in 2014, with a revised edition released in 2022, offering insights into Ukrainian society, history, and resilience during the war. She is currently at the Institut des sciences sociales du politique at Paris-Nanterre university.
