Anna Lordan

Writer, translator

Anna Lordan is a writer and translator based in Lviv. She holds a PhD from Stanford University in Slavic Languages and Literatures, and currently directs a mentorship program supporting young Ukrainians with their education. Anna has taught at Stanford University and Oberlin College in the US, and the University of Leeds in the UK. She designs and facilitates workshops on attention and writing for students in Ukraine and beyond. Anna’s work also includes literary translation: she has published translations from Czech – including the graphic novel Bílý Potok: A story from the Borderlands by Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99 – and Ukrainian. Her translation of a poem by the contemporary Ukrainian poet Oleksandr Kocharyan was shortlisted for the Ukrainian Institute London 2022 translation prize. It was published in August 2023 in a special edition of the London Ukrainian Review.
