Anna Switaj

Artist and writer

Anna Switaj is a researcher, artist and writer, currently pursuing a practice-based PhD in architectural design at the Bartlett School of Architecture. She works across analogue and digital media including photography, film, performance, textile, and installation. She is interested in ecology and embodied knowledge as unstable systems, shaped by continuous flux, transformation, and the unexpected. In her doctoral project, she uses bread as a tool to investigate the built environment. She is the inaugural recipient of the Jonathan Hill Architectural Design PhD Prize Fund, and a visiting scholar at the Yale School of Architecture and Yale School of Art in 2026. When she’s not in the studio she's jogging, preferably uphill.
