Nadia Zavarova

Film scholar

Nadiya Zavarova is a film scholar and translator. She teaches film history. She was born in Kyiv in 1981. She graduated from the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv State University of Cinema and Television. From 2003 to 2008, she worked as a program coordinator at the Molodist (Youth) Kyiv International Film Festival. Nadia defended her thesis at Rome’s Sapienza University on the topic of The Image of the City in 1940s-70s Italian Cinema. She writes about the history of cinema and cultural life in Ukraine and elsewhere.
