Issue 7. Time and the Calendar
Time is a realm where identities can be shaped, unmade, or imagined anew. The Calendar, a seemingly fixed grid, can reveal itself as a deeply human and political instrument, carrying ritual and power. The recalibration of shared dates signals a reordering of collective life. In war, hours warp and days lose their anchor, but small gestures can help reclaim continuity, allowing life to resist dissolution. Societies can be tempted to turn to the past for shelter, crafting nostalgic worlds. Our December 2025 issue explores temporal landscapes, in which we seek orientation and hope.
